Governors

Who are our Governors at Sherard?

Who are our Governors at Sherard? 1 Wayne Hickling is our chair of Governors

I’m originally from the West Midlands, but married a Melton girl and moved to Melton in 2002. Both my daughters Abi and Issy went to Sherard and had a great time. My youngest daughter Issy is still in the MET in year 7 at JFC.

By profession I am a Mechanical Engineer and I work in the Engineering / Construction Industry. For the last 25 years I have been a Director at large specialist contracting businesses, working mostly in the UK. I have a lot of experience in strategic planning, sales and marketing, health & safety organisation, supply chain management and commercial negotiation.

I have been a Governor at Sherard since 2009 when I was asked to apply for a Parent Governor position to use my commercial skills to help out with a large financial deficit. When my period came to an end I was asked to become a co-opted Governor, which I remain to date. I have recently become the Chair of Governors.

I am Zoe Simpson. I am a Headteacher at a primary school in Leicester City and also have a child that attends Sherard. Having been a pupil at Sherard myself, I am passionate about the inclusive nature of the school and how Sherard educates the ‘whole child’. I bring to the Governing body an understanding of data and how effective use of data can drive impact, safeguarding and teaching and learning. As a National Support School link I have supported schools within Leicester on their journey towards good and outstanding from requires improvement and special measures. I am the school safeguarding Governor.

Hi,my name is Francesca Dul. I have been a governor of the school since 2015. My areas of interest lie in teaching and learning and the well-being and safety of each child. I became a governor as I wanted to share my love of the school with others and to help support the school in any way I was able to. I have worked at Sherard for nearly 9 years and am a parent at the school too.
