Intensive Interaction is a programme which helps children who have limited or no language. It benefits children who are at the early stages of communication development and can be particularly beneficial to children with autism. Enjoyable and relaxed interaction sequences are developed between the interaction teacher and the child completing the learning. Interaction sequences are repeated and continue to grow in complexity and duration. The learner leads the interaction and the interaction teacher follows. The sessions are frequent, intense, fun-filled playful and enjoyable. Often children complete new vocalisations and actions during the sessions.
